Back in Montana: Summer Hot Air Balloon Flights Near Glacier National Park

We made it back to Montana.

After the miles, the packing, the planning, and the drive north, it feels good to be back in the Flathead Valley for another summer of balloon flights.

You may also see us around the valley during the summer — getting ready for flights, checking weather, moving equipment, or preparing the balloon for a morning launch. If you see us, feel free to come say hi.

Ballooning has always been a people business for us. We love meeting locals, visitors, families, photographers, and anyone curious about what we do. If we are not in the middle of a flight operation or safety-sensitive moment, we are happy to answer questions, talk about ballooning, and share a little bit about the experience.

Sometimes people see the balloon from the road, from their porch, or while driving through the Flathead Valley and wonder where we are flying, how the balloon works, or whether they could go up someday. The answer is simple: come talk to us.

2 Fly Us preparing a hot air balloon for a summer flight in the Flathead Valley Montana

If you are visiting northwest Montana this summer, a balloon ride can be a beautiful way to start one of your Glacier-area vacation days. Fly early, then still have plenty of daylight left for the park, the lake, Whitefish, Bigfork, or dinner in Kalispell.

Our pilot, Kevin Flanagan, has been flying professionally for more than 40 years, and every season reminds us why we still love this so much.

If ballooning is on your bucket list, this may be the summer to cross it off.
